'Santaan' is born
Finally, a family drama that will hit a note with all generations of family members - Santaan - a compelling saga that highlights the differences which arise between generations, over changing lifestyles, aspirations and morals in modern India.

Santaan commenced on STAR Plus on 18th February, airing Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm, with repeats running every Monday to Thursday at 10.00am.
Inspired by classic Bollywood family and social dramas of the past two decades, but given a contemporary reinterpretation for the small screen, Santaan follows the tender story of the closely knit ‘Dixit’ family.
Based in Kanpur, ‘Gayatri’ and ‘Parikshit’ are exceptional parents to their three doting children – sons ‘Kartik’ and ‘Adwait’ and daughter ‘Suhana’.
Marrying against the wishes of their respective parents and facing subsequent disownment, Gayatri and Parikshit make it their lifelong ambition to nurture their children in an environment of unconditional love, ready to sacrifice everything for the success and happiness of their kids.
After years of toiling for his family, Parikshit finally retires when his son, Kartik, lands his dream job, with its accompanying wealth and excessive lifestyle. Problems gradually surface as the generations begin to clash over values, lifestyles and morals.
The simple life that Gayatri and Parikshit have always known and cherished, contradicts the high-flying standards of their cosmopolitan children and, as time passes by, the differences between them push them further and further apart.
