Life in a ........Metro premiere
On Tuesday 8th May, Shilpa Shetty and director Anurag Basu will be on the red carpet in London’s Leicester Square for the first of three premieres to take place around the world.

This world premiere of Life in a… METRO not only sees Shilpa Shetty in her first film since making a global impact as the winner of Celebrity Big Brother, but also marks the first official world premiere of an Indian film outside of Mumbai. The after-show party will be hosted by Indian food group Tiffinbites at the new flagship restaurant in St Pauls.
From the euphoria of a fast paced life, to the breakdown of a short-lived relationship…it’s a journey everybody staying in metros across the world undertake daily. UTV’s film Life in a… Metro depicts this aspect, in director Anurag Basu’s signature style.
The very aptly named Life in a… Metro, releases worldwide on Friday 11th May with a 3 continent premiere that includes metros like London, Dubai, Melbourne and Mumbai – the first time for an Indian film. Starring Shilpa Shetty, Shiney Ahuja, Kay Kay Menon, Konkana Sen Sharma, Sharman Joshi, Kangna Ranaut, and Irrfan Khan the film is about the thrills and shrills of being a metro citizen.
Life in a… METRO is a collection of tales set in one of the world’s busiest cities – Mumbai; a bored housewife (Shilpa Shetty) who embarks on an illicit friendship, a 30 year old virgin (Konkona Sharma) who tries to find love through dating websites, a young man (Sharman Joshi) who desperately tries to make his way in the business world and a husband (Kay Kay Menon) who cheats on his wife… Their everyday lives are thrown into turmoil in their pursuit of love and happiness.
The Life in a…Metro after-show party is being hosted by Indian food group Tiffinbites, at its brand-new £1million flagship store near St Paul’s, London. Party-goers will get an exclusive look at the new state-of-the art restaurant, a week ahead of the doors opening to the public on 14 May. Tiffinbites offers Real Indian Food served the Real Indian Way – healthier and more traditional than the usual British curry fare – and is inspired by authentic Indian ‘tiffin boxes’ used to transport home-cooked lunches to workers across Mumbai. The new restaurant will also feature a cinema-size movie screen which will show classic Bollywood movies throughout the day.
Life in a… METRO will be released across the UK by UTV Motion Pictures on Friday 11th May 2007
